Meet our team
Cardiff Science Festival is organised by a team of dedicated volunteers, all with a wealth of experience in science communication. The committee produces a science festival experience bespoke to Cardiff, with events suitable for all ages, backgrounds and included events tailored to those with extra needs.
Matthew Allen, Festival Director, is an award-winning science communicator, working for Cardiff University. His job involves working with local schools to teach and inspire them about space and astronomy, often through Virtual Reality apps. Matthew’s role in the festival team is in managing the event partners and the events schedule, coordinating the festival funding and sponsorship, and taking a general overview of the festival.
