Explore Science at Grangetown Hub!

  • Grangetown Hub Havelock Place Cardiff, Wales, CF11 6PA United Kingdom (map)

Cardiff Science Festival is back, bringing exciting, hands-on activities to spark curiosity and inspire all ages! Taking place in venues across the city, the festival is run by passionate volunteers who believe science should be fun, engaging, and accessible to everyone. Join us on Saturday, 1st March at Grangetown Hub for a FREE interactive event packed with discovery, creativity, and learning.

One of the highlights of the day is Polar Animal Adaptations, hosted by the UK Polar Network. Ever wondered how animals survive in the freezing Arctic and Antarctic? Discover the weird and wonderful ways polar creatures stay warm, then get creative with our crafting materials to design your very own polar organism! This hands-on session is perfect for young children aged 3 and up and their families.

For older visitors, take on the challenge of becoming a Circular Citizen with the Circular Families Game! Designed for teenagers (13-19 years) and adults, this engaging card game introduces you to the world of circular economies. You’ll explore how different industries—from transport to food—can reduce waste and regenerate nature. Can you make the right choices to form a fully circular family and close the loop? Facilitated by Dr Marianna Marchesi from Cardiff University, this interactive game will get you thinking about sustainability in a whole new way.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to explore science in a historic setting! Secure your tickets now and join us for a day of discovery, learning, and fun at Grangetown Hub.
